Letter From Ross

XXXHope all is well. I landed in Khartoum Sudan on July 28th and have settled in pretty nicely. I have a nice apartment (for Sudan standards), a truck, a driver, and a maid, so you can imagine it's not difficult to get comfortable here. All the locals are friendly and helpful and most of them speak some English. The funniest thing about the locals is where ever I go they all look at me as if they have never seen a white boy before.
XXXShopping here is a chore, you have to go to three or four different shops and markets to find everything you want. Surprisingly if you look

hard you can find about anything, the other day I found a store that carries Tabasco, now all I have to do is find that store that sells beer. The job is good, I work with a highly motivated group of guys. It is just like working in Texas There is a communication barrier between management and the local labor force.
XXXI have attached some pictures of me standing at our storm water head wall on the Nile River and from the river to the job site. I haven't had the chance to take many pictures, so I will send more when I do.
XXX Please forward this on to everyone else, I am having trouble transferring my outlook contacts to my yahoo account. Ross's (pictures may be viewed on the Bass Club web site)
